Publisher and editorial scope
TypeMay is an independent text and typography utility, published under the TypeMay name. Its original instructions and examples explain this tool’s behavior; linked standards and font projects remain the work of their credited authors. TypeMay is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, the Unicode Consortium or the cited font projects.

The interface, help and privacy information are available in English. The text tools accept many scripts; this is not a claim that the interface has been translated. See Help for recovery steps and the contact information available for this version.
A workspace for the last careful pass
TypeMay brings text preparation and typographic review into one small workspace: tidy a paste, compare the changes, inspect unusual characters, then see the same words in a different font. Its focus is international design and formatting workflows. It is not a language-specific spelling fixer or an AI writing service.
Built around reversibility
Edits begin as previews. Apply explicitly, or undo up to 20 workspace actions while the tab stays open. Normal typing uses your browser’s editor undo. Download a project to keep the source and cleanup settings. Browser-local processing keeps the work close to you.
A pairing with a little character
The unchanged TypeMay logo leads our type choices: Bricolage Grotesque brings rounded, expressive display forms; Hanken Grotesk keeps controls, numbers and long instructions clear. These are companion fonts, not a claim that the generated logo lettering is an available font. Your selected font specimens remain independent of the interface.
Brand fonts are self-hosted WOFF2 derivatives from official OFL sources. Bricolage preserves its optical-size axis at normal width and weights 400–700; Hanken supplies real weights 100–900. Synthetic bold and italics are disabled. Noto Sans supplies Greek/Cyrillic, Noto Sans Arabic and Devanagari supply their scripts, and Noto Sans JP/SC/KR regular subsets load only for matching characters. Locale selection selects the CJK companion; this is not a claim of complete linguistic or glyph coverage.

Specimen fonts with their paperwork
The following font families are self-hosted with their SIL Open Font License 1.1 files. Original upstream files are preserved; the browser uses documented WOFF2 derivatives, with Arabic and Devanagari set to normal width. They are used as distinct specimens, not as a claim to support every language. Missing glyphs may render through your system’s fallback fonts.

Unicode reference data
The inspector bundles named character records from UnicodeData.txt, version 17.0.0, under the Unicode License V3. The reference loads only when you inspect text. Algorithmic blocks show their range label. This reference does not validate a language, font or script. General-category detection and segmentation still depend on the browser’s Unicode implementation.
Original studio imagery
The paper and cobalt still-life photographs are original AI-generated editorial images created for TypeMay. They depict imagined studio arrangements, not real customers or documentary events. All typography demonstrations in the workspace are selectable, rendered text.

Useful neighbors
FontDrop and Wakamai Fondue offer deeper font-file inspection. Text Fixer offers a focused line-break tool. TypeMay connects preparation, transparent review and rendering comparison in one session.
Scope and support
This first version is free. There are no paid packs, payments, accounts or sponsor placements active. Font identification, individually expanded algorithmic Unicode names and exhaustive OpenType inspection are outside the current tool’s scope.
Implementation uses jsdiff for bounded text differences, browser Intl.Segmenter for counts, and the FontFace API for local font rendering. See the privacy note for data handling.
